The Attraction's Logo

Captain Falcon's Twister Race is 1 of the 12 attractions in Nintendo Land. It is a Solo Attraction that can be played with 1 Player. It is based on the F-Zero Series. This attraction supports Assist Play.

Gameplay

You use the GamePad tilt controls while holding it vertically to steer through 12 areas while you get progressively faster. Then, if you're feeling up to the challenge, after you've beaten it, you can beat it AGAIN and try to beat the 12 bonus areas. Other people can use Assist Play to use Monita to shoot a rainbow circle beam onto the track, destroying obstacles.

Also, if you're close to a tunnel, Monita will say: 'Tunnel ahead! Tunnel ahead!'.

Obstacles

Boost Pads appear on almost all Areas and in almost all tunnels. There is a long variant which boosts you further.

Vents blow out air and stop you if you hit them shortly. They appear on Area 2, their Moving variant on Area 6 and their Small Variant on Area 6 as well, but also on Bonus Area 2 only.

An obstacle I don't know the name of looks like little spikes in a circle. It appears mainly on Area 3 and 4 and on some other areas.

Rainbow Ramps launch you once you touch them in the direction you were moving. This can launch you off the course. They only appear on Area 4 and 12. They can't be destroyed by Assist Play.

Jet Vehicles (Falcons, I think) appear on Area 5 and 10. They can move from side to side, so memorize the patterns! They knock you back when hit and are fueled by batteries.

Stars appear on Stages 5-8. They shortly make you invincible and can accidentally be destroyed by Assist Play. They can't help you to get a perfect race.

Another obstacle I don't know the name of appears mainly on Area 7 and 8. They have 2 variants, one where they're a cylinder with batteries inside and another where they're a floating disc. They can't be destroyed by Assist Play, because they're literally a solid wall.

Bombs are literal instant kill mines, so be sure to dodge them! Even with a star, they slow you down, but they can be destroyed per Assist Play. They appear on Areas 7, 8, 11 and Bonus Areas 9 and 12.

Junk appears on Areas 9 and 12 and on Bonus Area 4. It consists of broken batteries, Falcons and Trains. These can all be destroyed by Assist Play except for broken trains. They knock you back when hit.

Trains appear on Area 10 a lot, maybe on Area 12 and they also knock you back when hit. They can also move left and right, be sure to memorize their patterns too! Like their broken counterparts, they can't be destroyed by Assist Play. Annnnd they're fueled by batteries.

Areas (hints included)

Normal

35 second Areas

Area 1: No hurtful obstacles, just boost pads. Learn the controls in this area.

Area 2: Vents are introduced. Pay attention, dodge them, weave through the vent swarm at the end and you're all good.

Area 3: Just try to dodge the obstacles. Even if you do hit an obstacle, there's next to no punishment. They just literally slow you down a bit.

Area 4: Try to go for as many ramps as possible and move as straight forward (literally) as you can. These ramps come in sets of 3, 2 and 1 in that order.

30 second areas

Area 5: Dodge everything possible. There are a few trains, but they're walls, so they aren't a threat. There are many jet vehicles there and go to a wall when there are only 2 or 3 vehicles ahead of you and stay there.

Area 6: The vents are moving! Try to predict the movement of them and be careful.

Area 7: There are bombs in this level! They kill your vehicle instantly, so be careful! If you don't want the star, try to go in between the first set of bombs amd the left electro-filled cylinders.

Area 8: Mild bomb spam, swerve left and right when there are a lot of bombs.Be careful, there are bombs to the left and right of the middle at the end, so be careful, with the last boost pad, and enjoy the break after.

25 second areas

Area 9: Be careful, there is junk spam! Try to go through the tunnels made out of broken trains. Also go near the walls, there is the least junk.

Area 10: Mild train spam! Don't go between the first two trains, they'll "crush'' you. Try to predict the movement of the quickly-swerving trains at the end. Then try to enjoy the next area. It's bomb spam.

Area 11: As said before, it's bomb spam. Try to swerve between the bomb spam by moving slightly diagonally left and right. I don't have much advice.

Area 12, final area: You've almost made it! Try to not fly off or get stopped by junk! Don't miss the second ramp or you'll have to dodge a lot of vents!

Bonus Areas (all 25 seconds)

Area 1: No long boost panels and less of the short ones. It's still easy. However...

Area 2: ...this is immediately changing. There are a lot of vents. Make just 1 or 2 mistakes amd you're done for.

Area 3: Basically normal Area 3, but with a tighter time limit. Don't slip up.

Area 4: Hit all ramps and don't get hit by vents!

Area 5: Hopefully you enjoyed it being only hard already. It's a bit easier now. There are trains in the way now though.

Area 6: Basically Area 2 but less spammy but more movey.

Area 7: Hope you enjoy a constant insta kill threat!

Area 8: Don't lose hope! Even though it's a bit more spammy than before. Enjoy the break after.

Area 9: Bombs? Bombs in even more Junk spam sounds way cooler, because that is what this area is about, however, there's only a few bombs. Be careful though!

Area 10: Beware of tight train tunnels! But the troll at the beginning thankfully is gone. It's a lot more trains though!

Area 11: Just what were they thinking? There's a lot of pressure because you're almost at the end and then there's bomb spam! They are mostly in groups of 2, but then there are groups of 3 every now and then, and then there's more bombs! Good luck!

Area 12, true final area: Don't lose hope! There's a lot of junk and a few bombs and a lot of ramps (don't miss any!). Once you've made it to the finish line, congratulations! You've done it!
